Rachel McCarthy is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Colorado. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Creighton University in 2011. She then went on to complete a Dual-Degree Master’s Program at the University of Nebraska Omaha, graduating with a Master of Social Work degree and a Master of Public Health degree in 2016. Rachel will complete her Licensed Clinical Social Work fellowship in Grand Junction, Colorado in December of 2018. In the past, she has worked in an inpatient setting at a Community Mental Health Hospital and in a community development role at a non-profit organization in Omaha. She currently works as an integrated behavioral health clinician at Primary Care Partners. All such settings have allowed Rachel to work with clients of all ages, children ages 5+ through the rest of the lifespan. She has a wide range of experience with adolescents, families, couples, and adult patients. In treatment, Rachel utilizes CBT, DBT, Solutions-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Trauma-Informed techniques among other evidence-based modalities. Rachel’s hope is to foster a safe space for patients to show up for and lean into their lives – by processing through their experiences, identifying their needs, and feeling empowered to work toward positive change through insight and the creation of genuine, achievable goals.
